Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is prepared to inform you about the processing of your personal data under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”) and related legislation within the scope of the EventCampus App.

The data controller is the legal entity operating the App. For the website contact form and general inquiries, you may contact info@eventcampus.net.

Registration and account: First name, last name, university email address, selected university, password for account security (stored using secure technical methods, typically in a non-reversible form).

Session and usage: Login information, preferences, event creation and participation records, technical identifiers related to device/session (e.g., player ID for notification services).

Event data: Event title, description, date-time, location/address (location selected on the map), optional event images.

Website: Name, email, subject, and message content you submit via the contact form.

Permissions: Notification permission for push notifications; photo gallery/media library access when selecting images from the gallery (only during the relevant action and in accordance with the operating system permission model).

Creating and managing your account, identity verification with university email, and access appropriate to the campus community.

Listing events, running participation processes, and communication with organizers.

Processing and publishing location, date-time, and optional images when creating events.

If you grant notification permission: informational notifications regarding events, account, or the service.

Responding to requests and questions submitted through the website.

Service security, preventing misuse, fulfilling legal obligations, and resolving disputes.

Your data may be processed based on legal grounds such as your explicit consent, establishment or performance of a contract, legitimate interests of the data controller, or where required by law under KVKK Art. 5/2. Explicit consent or other legal bases under applicable law apply to notifications and sensitive permissions where required.

Your data may be transferred to technical service providers such as server hosting and notification infrastructure (e.g., push notification providers) in accordance with applicable law and agreements. Where transfer abroad occurs, measures compliant with KVKK and related regulations are taken.

Personal data is retained for as long as required by the processing purpose and statutory limitation/mandatory retention periods. Upon account deletion, your data is deleted, anonymized, or no longer processed except where retention is legally required.

Under KVKK Art. 11, you have the right to learn whether your data is processed, request information if processed, learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly, know third parties to whom data is transferred domestically or abroad, request correction if incomplete or inaccurate, request deletion/destruction under KVKK conditions, request notification to third parties, object to results against you arising solely from automated processing, and claim compensation for damage due to unlawful processing.

Appropriate technical and administrative measures are aimed at protecting your personal data. Due to the nature of the internet and mobile environments, absolute security cannot be guaranteed; protecting your password is important.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version takes effect when published in the App or on the website. Additional notice may be provided for material changes.
